Overall, CLARITY (formerly as "The Incorporated Association for The General Welfare of the Blind"!) has been providing blind and disabled people with meaningful employment since 1854. However, in 1936 a generous grant by trustee and Victoria Cross recipient, Captain Sir Beachcroft Towse, and fellow trustee Lord Nuffield meant that we branched out into soap manufacture. Some of the original fragrances included Carbolic, Coal Tar and Eau de Cologne and single 3oz tablets cost 6d each.
CLARITY has moved with the times and today our commemorative soaps have been developed in conjunction with speciality fragrance house Ungerer to create contemporary, environmentally friendly soaps for you to enjoy yourself or buy as an ideal gift for anyone who you think might be as impressed with CLARITY’s mission as you.
The fragrances are: Monoi, Neroli Blossom, Oatmeal, Olive & Patchouli, Green Tea, and Vetiver & Black Pepper. The origin and explanation of each fragrance appears on a menu card which is included in the box.In 75 years a lot has changed, but our mission has remained the same. The six organic soaps are presented in a special editionbox which is 100% recyclable. They are available for £18.95, including p&p from your local representative or here, on our website.
The Soil Association UK’s organic certification, which applies to all the soaps’ ingredients, ensures minimal environmental impact, with no chemical fertilisers orpesticides used and overall sustainability of the crops.
